Dr. David Ulrich has been recognized as an outstanding educator throughout 31 years of service on behalf of students, including 23 years in leadership. His career began as a middle school alternative education teacher in Phoenix, Arizona. He worked as a teacher, principal, and district-level administrator in the Kansas City, Missouri metropolitan area for 15 years. For the last nine years he has been a superintendent of schools. First, in Moffat County, Colorado and, in 2020, he was named superintendent of Kirkwood School District in suburban St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Ulrich graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He also holds a master’s degree in secondary curriculum and instruction from Arizona State University. He earned his doctorate in education leadership from St. Louis University in 2005.
